History Repeating Itself

Modern day examples of the Odyssey and the Iliad are less identical and merely show similarities. Even today soldiers of countries are dragged into wars that they have no idea what they are for. Tribal wars amongst clans and warlords still exist over stuff today we view as inconsequential matters like insults. War hasn't changed since the time of the Greeks, just many modern countries view fighting as a lesser way of getting what you want. science

The Devil is in The Details

So here we are in 2017 and we are still having an age old discussion about our creation. Which
brings up, why are they all similar yet have different stories.

Same story:

1.  There is a flood
2.  Chao before man
3.  Man is put through hardship
4.  A garden
5.  Man is only as perfect as his God/gods

Where the details get hazy:
  1. Start dates
  2. What the flood means
  3. What is man's role in the lore
  4. How exactly we started
  5. Who was there
How does the story go on?

Today these stories that have stood the test of time are under increasing scrutiny from science and review. An in many ways it threatens the very origin of these origin stories, which in their creation have stood immortal through time. Have our gods now forsaken us or have they said it is now time to grow on our own.

We are posed for a new era where we forget more of our passed as our rate of advancement in science and technology exceeds our own ability to keep pace. Maybe these religions were the garden that fostered us and guided our ancestors on a path that was considered right. But now these books are nothing but history, the flood has happened, the chaos is being tamed, the forests are nothing but preserves, animals run from us or are tamed by us, we no longer need to take a journey of years to find an answer when the same one is available in seconds.

History as we know it is all that immortal to us, when we say we want to make history, we are just saying we want to be immortal and be remembered well after our bones have turned to dust. The garden is out of room and almost out of stories to tell, it is time now we left the garden because so far we've only been playing in the backyard and it is time we walk out the front door and explore the rest.

Are you ready for the next book? An maybe the next main character is you.
